Five more Filipinos died of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) infections abroad, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a report Friday.

In its regular COVID-19 bulletin, the DFA also recorded 24 new confirmed cases and 4 new recoveries among overseas Filipinos.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases affecting overseas Filipinos to 18,658. Of this total, 11,400 have recovered, 6,090 are undergoing treatment and 1,168 died due to coronavirus complications.
There are now a total of 94 countries and territories with Filipino COVID-19 cases.
The Middle East and Africa remain as the region with the most numbers in all categories, namely the total number of cases (10,473); recoveries (5,913); undergoing treatment (3,796), and deaths (764).
In a statement, the DFA assured that its personnel here and abroad are committed to attending to the needs of overseas Filipinos whenever possible and will continue to partner with local health authorities in the fight against the pandemic.
