CBCP official reminds faithful to continue observing health protocols
For an official of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), religious gatherings in Metro Manila being allowed up to 30-percent seating capacity is a welcome development.

Father Jerome Secillano, executive secretary of the CBCP Public Affairs Committee, said the increase means more people can now attend church services.
"It's good that more people are now given opportunity to attend church services," he said in an interview Friday, May 21.
Secillano said spiritual matters are also very important in this time of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The CBCP official, however reminded the faithful to continue observing the health protocols amid the continued threat of COVID-19.
"We also remind people to continue observing health protocols as they enter churches. We do not want the risk of being exposed to the virus," said Secillano.
In a statement, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Thursday, May 20, noted that the Metro Manila Council has allowed religious gatherings at 30 percent venue capacity.
The IATF earlier allowed religious gatherings up to 10 percent of the venue capacity under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions.
Local government units, however, were given the discretion to increase the venue capacity of religious gatherings as long as these would not exceed the 30 percent allowable venue capacity.
