K-pop superstars and Grammy nominee BTS made their much-awaited comeback on May 21, releasing “Butter,” their second English track after their global hit “Dynamite” last August.

“Butter” is a digital dance pop song containing the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS.

RM participated in songwriting along with Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, Ron Perry, Jenna Andrews, Alex Bilowitz and Sebastian Garcia, according to Big Hit Music.

BTS will have their first performance of “Butter” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) slated on May 23 (8 a.m. on May 24 in the Philippines). This year, they are nominated at the BBMAs for Top Duo/Group, Top Social Artist, Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song.

In addition, BTS will perform on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on May 25 and kick off the “Good Morning America” 2021 Summer Concert Series on May 28.

YouTube confirmed to Manila Bulletin on Aug. 22, 2020 that “Dynamite” set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere with viewers of over 3 million peak concurrents.
