Artists and action leaders campaign for voters registration at 'Love Kita Pinas' online event

Remember, your vote is your right and power

For countless years, we have been taught that change starts within us, and that begins with our vote. Participating in the national elections is not just our right as Filipinos, it is also a power that affects the course of the future of our countrymen. As the deadline of voters registration comes near, Sept. 30, 2021, programs and campaigns for people to sign up are now rising.

Among those is "Love Kita Pinas," a virtual event aiming to inspire millions of Filipinos to sign up to exercise their right to vote. Led by Elekyson 2022 Koalisyon, a non-partisan, multi-sectoral coalition of over 30 civic and religious organizations and individuals, the event is going to be streamed online on May 22, 2021, Saturday, featuring artists and speakers that support its mission.

"We must break the echo chambers of partisan politics," Paul John Peña, national communications head for Eleksyon 2022 Koalisyon, says. "This is also why we designed 'Love Kita Pinas' to be just as entertaining, emotionally captivating as it is informative."

“I think what we do in the coalition is try to make voter registration visible and important in seemingly ‘nonpolitical’ sections of society, whether it be different fandoms, different sectors, or more,” creatives and social media head Kara Angan adds.

The program will be hosted by Robi Domingo, Ria Atayde, Macoy Dubs, and Miss Trans Global 2020 and youth action leader Mela Habijan.

Among those who will appear in the event are KZ Tandingan, Kean Cipriano, Maris Racal, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Rising P-Pop group BGYO, Edward Barber, JM Yosures, Zephanie, Kritiko, Juan Miguel Severo, and Lea Salonga.

Other personalities and thought leaders appearing in the program also include Sylvia Sanchez, John Arcilla, Ricci Rivero, Alyssa Valdez, Sassa Gurl, JC Alcantara, Charlie Dizon, and Vivoree through different segments that will encourage active participation among Filipinos to register and vote. Over 50 celebrities and influencers are confirmed to participate in this virtual event.
