Two drug suspects were killed while 5 others were arrested in different buy-bust operations conducted by the Bulacan police on May 19-20.
Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, Central Luzon police regional director,had earlier instructed the members of the regional police to remain vigilant and relentless in the campaign against illegal drugs and also in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In reports submitted to Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, Bulacan police director, the slain drug suspects were identified as Andrew Nunez Dizon, of Barangay Sta. Rosa 1, Marilao, and Alias Alex, of Plaridel, in Bulacan.
In a report by Lt. Col. Dominador Lazaro Ignacio, Marilao police chief, a buy-bust operation against Dizon was conducted in Barangay Sta. Rosa 1, Marilao, Bulacan on Thursday, May 20. After the drug transaction was completed, the undercover police were fired upon by the suspect. The backup police retaliated hitting the suspect that resulted in his death.
Recovered from the slain suspect was an improvised shotgun loaded with 1 empty shell of a 12 gauge, 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu,the buy-bust money, and other personal belongings.
Meanwhile, a joint team of Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Plaridel Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, May 19, against alias Alex and his unidentified cohort in Barangay Lumang Bayan, Plaridel, Bulacan at about 1:00 a.m. The operation turned into a shootout when the suspects sensed that they were dealing with undercover police. Alias Alex sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to the Bulacan Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. His unidentified cohort eluded arrest on board a blue motorcycle.
Recovered from alias Alex was a caliber 38 revolver; 17 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, and a P1,000 marked money.
Separate buy-bust operations were conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Marilao and Baliwag Police Stations which resulted in the arrest of five suspects. Fifteen plastic sachets of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, and 1 caliber .45 Remington with serial number 67827 with one magazine of cal. 45 loaded with 4 ammunitions were recovered from the suspect identified as Regil Cruz.
