In the pre-social media time, there are a bunch of ways Y2K kids kill time. Some dedicated their hours punching the buttons of their tamagotchi, others watched films they got from video rental shops. Another thing that kept them busy is the art of DIY accessories.

Remember those elastic strings that are braided, knotted, and adorned with beads of varying color and style? Those artsy-craftsy bracelets are among the hallmarks of young style in the early 2000s. While we know some accessories can be timeless, these beaded, handloomed charms are definitely staying in that eraâ€”or maybe not.

Actress and style icon Heart Evangelista is serving fashion nostalgia as she reimagines the Y2K accessories, and makes campy yet chic wrist pieces.

Through Maison Love Marie, an online lifestyle boutique, Heart shares her new line of bracelets that celebrates the fun days of the 2000s' youth. She mixes emoji and letter beads with local materials such as freshwater pearls and pili shells, making a stylish and charming arm candy. A charm of her monogram LM hangs on each piece, a sort of her stamp of approval.
