Cebu Pacific (CEB) today, May 20, 2021, flew in another batch of 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from Beijing to Manila.
The shipment was the third to be picked up by CEB, in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH).
From March 2021 to date, the airline has transported 2.5 million vaccine doses from China to Manila, and distributed more than one million doses nationwide.
CEB’s chartered A330 flight 5J 671 transported the latest batch of vaccines in temperature-controlled containers which landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 7:35 this morning.
“We remain committed to support the government’s ongoing vaccination program,” says Alex Reyes, Chief Strategy Officer at Cebu Pacific.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to provide our expertise in international shipments and we hope to continuously contribute by bringing in more life-saving vaccines from abroad.”
Health authorities inspected all the vaccines upon arrival in Manila, before they were transferred to refrigerated trucks via electric forklifts.
