A magnitude 4 earthquake struck off the coast of Surigao del Norte on Sunday afternoon, May 2.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake took place at about 50 kilometers (km) of Burgos, Surigao del Norte at 1:45 p.m.
The temblor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of focus of 7 km.
Phivolcs reported that no intensity was felt in the nearby areas, meaning that the quake was most likely unfelt in the mainland.
It added that there is no expected damage or aftershock following the quake.
