Ex-Menudo member Ray Reyes dies at 51

Ray Reyes, a member of the popular Puerto Rican boy band Menudo, has passed away. He was 51.

His colleagues in the musical group expressed their condolences.

Charlie Masso declared he felt with "great sadness" with the Ray's demise.

"Rest in peace Ray," Charlie wrote.

Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga commented on Charlie's post with: "Oh no!!! Sending you all condolences, prayers and big hugs."

Roy Rosselló said it was a "sad" moment.

He added that Ray will always be in their hearts.

Menudo, who toured the Philippines in their heydays in the late 1970s and early 1980s, popularized the songs "If You’re Not Here," "Please Be Good To Me," "Like A Cannonball," and "I’m Going Back to the Philippines," among others.

The Latino boy band was formed in Puerto Rico by producer Edgardo Díaz in 1977. The same year, the group released their debut album.

Menudo is considered as one of the biggest Latin boy bands in history, even regarded as the Most Iconic Latino Pop Music Band.
