Why it took 15 years for Janno Gibbs to record new songs

Singer-actor Janno Gibbs is on a roll as he makes a musical comeback via the upbeat song "Pangmalakasan."
During a Zoom press conference sponsored by Viva Records on May 19, Janno attributed the delay in the release of his new songs to mental block.
"Nagkakaroon ako ng mental block sa pag-compose ng songs. Kapag may part ako na hindi ko nagustuhan, iiwan ko yung naumpisahan ko na at magsisimula na naman ako ng bagong song at hindi ko na naman matatapos," said Janno, when asked what took him so long to come up with new musical materials. (I was suffering from mental block. I would compose songs. If I don't feel the song, I would set it aside and compose another one. Then I won't be able to finish it again).
Janno said that he has written two new materials which would be released in the coming months. "After 'Pangmalakasan,' my follow-up single is a ballad. People have been requesting that I compose another ballad).
The "Ipagpatawad Mo" singer added that he has written tons of songs which he hopes to finish real soon.
Asked if he would promote a new CD, Janno said: "I think Viva Records is not interested to produce CDs these days. They are more inclined to release singles."

Janno also updated his fans on "Yorme: The Musical," a biopic on Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. In the musical, Janno will play the late German Moreno.
"I've already shot some scenes. I sang a fast number and a ballad. I have one more shooting day for the musical," he said.
Earlier, Janno said he was surprised when he was chosen to play Kuya Germs in the biopic.
"I’d like to think isa ako sa fave alagas ni Kuya Germs, at siya talaga naka-discover sa akin. I owe him my career, kaya emotional ako playing him. Nagdalawang isip lang ako kasi kailangan mag-ahit which I don’t like. Pero ayokong iba ang gumanap na Kuya Germs!” said Janno, in a statement sent to ABS-CBN.
“Pangmalakasan” is written by Janno Gibbs and is produced by the singer with Civ Fontanilla for Viva Records. An official music video is forthcoming. Check out “Pangmalakasan” on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music and all streaming platforms.
