Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" believes that herd immunity can be achieved in the country by September this year through continuous vaccination.

The city government broke its own record with 15,763 vaccines deployed in a single day on Monday (May 17).
"We broke again our record of vaccines deployed and 95% of that is the first dose," Domagoso said in an interview with CNN Philippines on Monday (May 17).
"The point is, ang mga LGU gamitin lang nang husto ng national government, tingin ko ma-achieve natin ang ating goal by September na magkaroon ng herd immunity, ma-reach ang 70% vaccinated (I think the national government should use the LGUs to achieve its goal of herd immunity by September, so we can reach 70% of our people who are vaccinated)," he added.
According to the data from the Manila Health Department (MHD), a total of 214,230 vaccines have been deployed in the city, with 155,244 individuals receiving their first dose, and 58,986 getting their second dose.
The COVID-19 vaccines available in the city which were allocated by the national government are those from the COVAX facility — AstraZeneca and Pfizer, Sinovac’s CoronaVac, and Russia’s Gamaleya Institute’s Sputnik V.
