Fire hits residential area in Barangay San Miguel, Pasig City

A fire broke out at a residential area in Barangay San Miguel, Pasig City on Wednesday night (May 19), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.

In a phone interview, BFP-Pasig chief Supt. John Pinagod Jr. said that it was still on first alarm as of 7:40 p.m.

"I am on the way to the area... My men are already there, more firefighters are heading there now," he said.

Photos and Facebook lives shared by netizens showed firefighters trying to extinguish the blaze consuming houses.

Thick black smoke billows into the night sky as the fire continues in the residential area.
