
The Philippines logged 4,487 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, May 18, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
Active cases nationwide increased to 52,291 which is 4.5 percent of the country's overall caseload currently at 1,154,388, the latest case bulletin showed.
It was reported that 93.1 percent of those currently sick are experiencing mild symptoms, 2.2 percent are asymptomatic, 1.5 percent are in critical condition, two percent are in severe condition, and 1.29 percent are experiencing moderate symptoms.
The death toll climbed to 19,372 with 110 more patients who succumbed to the viral disease.
The tally of survivors, meanwhile, jumped to 1,082,725 after 6,383 more patients recovered from the illness.
"Twenty-four duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 22 are recoveries," it said.
Eight laboratories were not able to submit their data on time to the DOH system. Their respective data is not yet included in the latest count.
