Is Miss Myanmar barred from going home?

The Miss Universe 2020 contest is over and done with but Myanmar's representative, Thuzar Wint Lwin, known among fans as Candy Lwin, is still in the US.

Apparently, she is afraid to return to her country.

She was among many protesting the military's takeover there and she believes it would be dangerous for her to fly home.

Thuzar had to don a disguise so she could fly to the US to compete in the pageant.

She used the Miss Universe stage to highlight her country's plight.

During the Miss Universe national costume competition, Thuzar raised a banner with the words, "Pray for Myanmar."

She eventually won Best National Costume.

For her actions, Thuzar actually deserves a hero's welcome but it looks like she is now on the same boat as Miss Grand Myanmar Han lay who is still in Thailand months after the Miss Grand International tilt ended.

Like Thuzar, Han also bravely talked about her countrymen's fight for freedom at the pageant.
