Coast Guard base facility to rise in Zamboanga Sibugay

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is set to build a base facility to strengthen maritime security and law enforcement in Zamboanga Sibugay.

PCG Lieutenant Romel Dua and Payao Mayor Joeper Mendoza have signed the deed of usufruct for the utilization of a 300-square-meter lot located at Tandu Patao Port, Barangay Poblacion, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay on Monday, May 17.

The Municipality of Payao has also committed to allocate P1.5 million to support the construction of said government infrastructure.

“Once operational, the Coast Guard Base in Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay will intensify PCG presence in the municipality, thereby improving maritime security, maritime safety, and local maritime tourism,” the PCG said in a statement.
