8 Metro Manila cities now classified as 'moderate risk' for COVID-19 -- OCTA Research
Independent research group OCTA said on Tuesday, May 18, that eight cities in Metro Manila are now classified as "moderate risk" areas for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In its latest monitoring report, OCTA said the average daily attack rates (ADAR) in eight local government units (LGUs) were already below 10 per 100,000 population, which is classified as a moderate risk under the Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.
These LGUs are:
Navotas (4.49)
Malabon (7.65)
Manila (7.86)
Caloocan (8.83)
Muntinlupa (9.06)
Taguig (9.39)
Pasay (9.40)
Parañaque (9.94)
Meanwhile, an area with ADAR above 10 cases per 100,000 population is considered as "high risk."
For the entire Metro Manila, the ADAR is currently at 10.26 per 100,000.

OCTA also noted that the average new COVID-19 cases per day in Metro Manila has decreased by 27 percent to 1,417 for the May 11-May 17 period.
During the same period, the reproduction number in Metro Manila was 0.57, while the positivity rate was 11 percent.
As of May 15, the health care utilization rate (HCUR) in Metro Manila was 45 percent with an intensive care unit or ICU occupancy of 56 percent.
Fifteen LGUS are classified as "safe" in terms of health care utilization as HCUR in these areas is already less than 60 percent.
Only Quezon City (62 percent) and Makati City (68 percent) have above 60 percent HCUR.
