73% of Senate employees already vaccinated—Sotto

Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Tuesday announced that 73 percent of the Senate’s employees are already vaccinated.

“As of today, the Senate has all the employees vaccinated at 73 percent. In other words, 73 percent of the Senate employees are already vaccinated, for the record,” Sotto said during today’s session.

The remaining 27 percent who are not yet vaccinated, include some senators. Sotto, however, pointed out that senators have opted to be behind of the vaccination schedule and prioritize the employees.

As of April, the Senate has 1,848 employees.

“Some of us will be vaccinated this week or this weekend,” he said.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri said he hopes that after the inoculation of majority of their employees, the Senate would be able to do more work during the deliberations on the proposed 2022 national budget.

Sotto earlier said the Senate was able to receive China-made Sinovac and Russian manufactured Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccines.
