57,218 Pasay City residents get first and second doses of COVID vaccines

A total of 57,218 frontline health workers, senior citizens, and adults with comorbidities in Pasay City already received their first and second doses of the anti-COVID vaccines.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government received a total of 64,086 Sinovac vaccines, 16,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, and 1,170 doses of Pfizer vaccines from the national government.

Rubiano said the City Health Office (CHO) reported on May 17 that the city government already used a total of 22,996 Sinovac, 9,530 AstraZeneca, and 390 Pfizer vaccines.

She said the city also inoculated 100 percent of the health workers in the city with the first dose, and 82.82 percent with the second dose.

The mayor said the city government targets to inoculate 42,266 senior citizens. About 10,280 were administered their first dose of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines or about 24.32 percent while those who received their second dose are at 39.84 percent.

Rubiano said the city government allotted 18,000 vaccines for adults with comorbidities, 99.14 percent of which were already given the vaccines.

She said the number of individuals who submitted themselves for vaccination showed that city residents want to protect themselves against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Rubiano appealed to residents to support the city government’s “Vacc to the Future” project.
