The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is now accepting online job applications, which is another change brought about by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Lawyers, certified public accountants, and other graduates of a four-year college course may view the avà ilable positions on the agency's website at www.bir.gov.ph.
BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay said interested parties may inquire about the hiring process dubbed as the online pre-employment examination (OPE) with the human resource division of the revenue regional office where their residences are located.
The BIR chief said the OPE will give priority to professionals who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
He noted that the OPE will give work opportunities to individuals who are reluctant to go out of their residences for fear of catching the virus.
Dulay also made assurances that the recruitment will not be based on "palaksan (patronage)," but purely on skill and qualifications.
The OPE applies the standards and requirements set by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in the hiring of government workers.
