Las Piñas LGU offers free COVID antigen swab testing

The Las Piñas City government launched free rapid antigen swab testing for residents in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the city.

Dra. Juliana Gonzales, of the City Health Office, said the city government is offering free rapid antigen swab testing for those with symptoms of COVID-19 or with exposure to the virus.

Gonzales said residents who wanted to be tested have to call their swabbing hotline number for their scheduled date, time, and place.

She explained the rapid antigen swab testing was launched to immediately detect COVID-19 cases in the city.

The CHO officer said those who volunteer to undergo rapid antigen test need to fill up a case investigation form at the swabbing testing area to be submitted to the encoding area before testing will be made.

Gonzales said patients with symptoms or with exposure to the virus need to wait 15 to 30 minutes for their result. Once it turns out positive, they will be placed at the temporary isolation facility at the swab testing area.

She said doctors assigned at the swab testing area will assess the patients with positive results to determine whether they need to undergo another antigen swab testing within 48 hours or to undergo RT-PCR test for confirmation.
