Babies transferred from fire-hit PGH to Sta. Ana Hospital in 'good condition'

Authorities at the Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila said on Monday, May 17, that the babies who were transferred to their facility from the fire-hit Philippine General Hospital (PGH) are all in good condition.

“Sila ay nasa maayos na kalagayan (They are in good condition),” Dr. Grace Padilla, medical director of Sta. Ana Hospital, assured the parents of the babies in an interview with DZMM on Monday.

Padilla said the babies are also being fed well with pasteurized human milk which the hospital is getiing from Manila’s human milk bank at the Justice Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH)

Those who wish to donate breast milk for the babies can coordinate with JJASGH, Padilla said.

Padilla said Sta. Ana Hospital is currently coordinating with PGH for the proper identification of the babies who were transferred to their care.

“Yung mga mommies, kino-coordinate namin sa...PGH para pumunta sa amin and then i-identify pa lang namin yung mga tunay na nanay nila (We’re coordinating with the mothers through...PGH so they could go to the hospital and then we will identify if they really are the mothers of the children),” Padilla said.

Twelve premature babies were transferred to the Sta. Ana Hospital’s care after a fire hit the PGH before dawn on Sunday.
