Tuffin, Nunag continue to impress in New Zealand NBL

Wellington’s Ken Tuffin and Franklin’s Joseph Nunag continued their solid roles for the teams in their recent New Zealand National Basketball League matches.

Tuffin had seven points, 10 rebounds and three steals in 21 minutes off the bench to help the Saints stay unbeaten with a 95-69 home victory over the Nelson Giants.

Over in Franklin, Nunag hit 17 points spiked by four triples with three assists and two steals as the Bulls defeated the Southland Sharks, 82-73.

Wellington improved to a perfect 4-0 record while Franklin moved in a tie for third with the Auckland Huskies at 3-2.

The Fil-Kiwi former Far Eastern University cagers are making strides for their clubs since the NBL season began three weeks ago.

Tuffin is averaging 9.0 points and 2.0 rebounds for the Saints while Nunag is producing 14.3 points for the Bulls.

Taane Samuel, a former foreign student athlete for La Salle in the UAAP, scored 24 points for Wellington’s romp of Nelson.
