Brave Girls' Yujeong, Yuna, BLACKPINK's Jennie top K-pop girl group member rankings in May

Viral group Brave Girls’ members Yujeong and Yuna, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Oh My Girl’s Arin and ITZY’s Yuna ranked in the top five of the new brand reputation index for K-pop girl group members in May.

The Korea Corporate Research Institute analyzed 114.22 million pieces of big data covering 540 girl group members from April 16 to May 16, down by 11.98 percent from 129.77 million in April.

The rankings were based on consumer participation, media exposure, communication and community indices.

Brave Girls’ Yujeong ranked first for the second straight month with a score of 4.05 million, a decrease of 36.7 percent from 6.4 million in April.

Brave Girls’ Yuna rose to second from third place, scoring 3.34 million, down by 30.43 percent from 4.8 million last month.

Brave Girls’ popularity rose starting in February when a video of their various performances of their four-year-old song “Rollin’” before Korean soldiers was posted on YouTube. They were on the brink of disbandment but through the song, they won TV music show awards and it resurrected their career.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie rose to third from sixth place with a score of 3.33 million, down by 14.6 percent from 3.9 million in April.

Oh My Girl’s Arin also rose to fourth from ninth last month, getting a score of 3.2 million, an increase of 31.56 percent from 2.49 million.

ITZY’s Yuna jumped to fifth from 35th place last month with a brand reputation index score of 3.26 million, an increase of 176.4 percent from 1.18 million.
