Purnomowati strong contender in 'The Apprentice' Top 5, says Sangalang

Filipino bet Louie Sangalang considers his teammate Paulina Purnomowati as probably the strongest contender among the remaining Top 5 of "The Apprentice."

Purnomowati, 41, got the nod of Sangalang due to her experience, declaring the Indonesian contestant as "more advanced than the others."

"I would say that it’s Paulina because of her maturity, ‘yong maturity niya brings so many things sa competition (her maturity brings so many things in the competition)," said the 43-year-old Sangalang. "She has an operations background, she has a marketing background, she knows her numbers. She’s well-versed, pagdating doon sa brands and branding (when it comes to brands and brandings), and she’s basically the total package."

But what stood out the most for Sangalang is how he witnessed the selling point of Purnomowati she showed throughout the series -- her character.

For Sangalang, Purnomowati possesses the truthfulness and authenticity around her teammates and can be as straightforward as possible without being disrespectful of the other person.

"I’m not sure if that's because she has an Asian background, pero meron silang -- meron tayong rather na character of not shaming people. Parang meron I wouldn’t say humility, but I would say may practice na we’re respectful (Asians have this character of not shaming people. I wouldn't say humility but I would say we have a practice of being respectful) and she strongly shows that in the competition regardless of whether she likes you or not," said Sangalang, a former mixed martial arts champion, who is among the Top 5 in "The Apprentice."

"So she has a way of really putting things out there that's very respectful, very professional. So it has to be Paulina."

Sangalang became the lone male survivor in the series after the conclusion of Episode 8.

Completing the Top 5 are Sangalang, Purnomowati, Irina Chadsey of Russia, Monica Millington of the United States, and Jessica Ramella of Venezuela as four more episodes await the fans as well as the contenders.

"The One" will become the protege of ONE Championship CEO and founder Chatri Sityodtong and the organization's chief of staff.
