Osmel Sousa predicts last two girls standing at 69th Miss Universe Competition

If the prediction of Venezuelan pageant expert Osmel Sousa would be taken seriously, then the Miss Universe 2020 crown will be a toss-up between two Latina beauties!


Sousa, also known as the "Czar of Beauty," thinks that the last two candidates standing on stage will come from Latin America.

In an online article by elnuevodia.com, the former president of Miss Venezuela beauty pageant said that the strongest candidates to beat this year are the delegates from Mexico and Puerto Rico.

“Well, I have my candidate this year, which is Argentina that I want to win. But I've always told him, since he's been here, 'hey, be careful because the two strongest here are Puerto Rico and Mexico,' " Sousa said.

Sousa, 74, is now in Florida for the 69th Miss Universe Competition. After watching the preliminaries, Sousa listed down his other favorite girls for the MU crown.


“Well, the preliminary is over. It was very pretty. All the beautiful girls, but I wrote down here (on her cell phone) the ones that I liked the most because in a bathing suit with the capes, well, they showed off by parading. Of course, I wrote down a few and here they are. First Argentina, who did very well. Then I liked Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Panama, France, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Peru, Russia, Thailand and Jamaica," said Sousa, in the same article.

For almost 40 years, Sousa was the president of the Miss Venezuela Organization, achieving the triumph of six of the seven Venezuelans who have been crowned Miss Universe, the article said.

He began to direct the Venezuelan national pageant in 1981 when Maritza Sayalero in 1979 had already become the first Miss Universe in that country. 

Sousa is considered one of the best queen trainers internationally. Currently, he is in charge of Miss Universe Argentina, elnuevodia.com also said.

Puerto Rico has already won five Miss Universe crowns (1970, 1985, 1993, 2001 and 2006) while Mexico has two (1991 and 2010).
