WATCH: The many ways Heart Evangelista styles a silk scarf

As a fashion icon, Heart Evangelista knows that a difference between a good look and an amazing one lies on the finishing touches. An addition of jewelry can make a casual ensemble be more classy. A dainty hair piece provides a subtle pizzazz. One of her favorite accessories is a chic silk scarf.

A silk scarf is a closet staple—it is the chameleon in the field of accessories. This piece made of fine fabric gives an easy way to add fun prints to your look. The best part is that they can be another stylish item, not just an accessory. With a few folds and knots, a scarf can be transformed into a top, handbag, bolero, even a dress!

In her latest vlog, Heart shares the many ways she wears a scarf with the beautiful pieces from luxury label Salvatore Ferragamo. Since the '70s, the brand's founder Fulvia Ferragamo Visconti has been one of the champions of silk accessories, creating scarf designs inspired by nature, exotic animals, and landscapes.

"In the process of making my own accessories, I have learned that these things (scarves) do more than encourage style and self-expression," Heart says in her book "Style with Heart." "They also spark creativity and promote resourcefulness. As I've learned, designing scarves and dressing up with a little something extra have long-term benefits, too!"
