Miss Grand International 2021 1st runner-up Samantha Bernardo has returned to the Philippines as she rallied behind Rabiya Mateo in her journey to the 69th Miss Universe Competition ongoing in Hollywood, Florida.

Making a short appearance at the 61st anniversary of the Philippine Association of Real Estate Boards Inc. (PAREB) via Zoom last Thursday, May 13, Samantha believes that Rabiya would make it in the prestigious competition.

“Kayang-kaya mo ‘yan Rabiya, para sa Pilipinas! Huwag na lang natin pansinin ang negativity. Rabiya and I have been communicating through social media. It was also a chance to clear the air because people have been comparing. Iba ang laban ko, iba rin ang journey niya, so please stop the hate. She’s already there. Let’s all unite for Rabiya and let’s all help her get another Miss Universe crown for the country!” Samantha said.

Samantha also said that it took quite sometime before she finally came home because there were no available flights from Bangkok to Manila for the whole month of April.

But the beauty queen from Palawan said that organizers of Miss Grand International took care of the girls during her stay in Bangkok."I was able to explore the provinces of Thailand and enjoyed it. But I needed to go back for Bb. Pilipinas 2020 pageant and maybe, pursue my business."

Samantha revealed that she is in talks with PAREB head Dante Salamat for a possible collaboration on realtor coaching and financial literacy. "Mr. Dante Salamat is a good friend of mine and yes, we're discussing for a possible project."

Salamat, also of PR Diamonds Realty Philippines, has encouraged pageant titleholders and models to venture into real estate after their reign for bigger opportunities.

“Aside from being famous in modelling, I would like to give them the opportunity to earn in real estate as real estate practitioners being young and also millennials,” said Salamat, also a popular motivational speaker.

Salamat said: “It is also a lifetime career for this generation aside from modelling. Time comes our looks change. Our beauty fades and we are replaced by younger generations. But a long-time career given to them, I will train them and offer an opportunity how to earn a big income in real estate.”

“So it’s a long time career and I also help people in all walks of life, even in media if you are looking for another career, you can earn money in real estate,” he said.

Salamat, who used to be a janitor and courier until he became a successful real estate official, said that being a candidate in an international competition is already a winner.

“So success comes from your mindset. If you think you will win, you can create that. That’s how powerful our mind is,” he said.

Salamat added: “You don’t have to doubt. Once you choose to be a winner, you will be a winner. Once you accept yourself as a winner, it will create a spark on stage and show your confidence. If you don't bring home the crown, at least you’ve learned your lesson.”
