Pulilan's carabaos kneel sans usual crowd of believers

The iconic kneeling carabaos of Pulilan, Bulacan would still bow to tradition and perform their world-renowned gesture of kneeling before a virtual audience and not the usual crowd of hundreds of believers as the town celebrates the Kneeling Carabao Festival on May 14-15.

Pulileneous peacefully and silently celebrate the yearly Kneeling Carabao Festival online with photos of arts, painting work, and animated carabaos displayed on major roads of the town.

Edna Estarez-Villena Razon of Sta. Peregrina said there would be no live parade and kneeling of carabaos, only a short but meaningful program to be held in front of the San Isidro Labrador Church where carabaos bearing different kinds of fruits and vegetables were displayed.

The kneeling of the carabaos can be viewed at the official Facebook page of Pulilan with narrators explaining the ritual. The carabaos kneel in front of the San Isidro Labrador Church as a sign of thanksgiving and honor to the patron of the farmers for a bountiful harvest

Among those who participated in the book storytelling were the Pulilan Central School; Sto. Cristo Elementary; Sta. Peregrina Elementary School; Inaon Integrated School; Tabon Elementary School, Balatong B Elementary School, Mariano Del Rosario Memorial Elementary School, Dampol B Elementary School, Balatong B Elementary School, and Dulong Malabon Elementary School.

The TikTok Carabao Kneeling Festival 2021 were delivered by Virgilio V. Dionisio Memorial High School-Senior and Junior High School; Bajit-Castillo High School-Junior and Senior High School; Sta Peregrina High School-Junior and Senior High School, and Dampol 2nd National High School-Senior High School and Junior High School.
