The number coding scheme will be reimposed in Makati City starting May 15 as the metropolis is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) anew.
In a Facebook post, the local government unit (LGU) of Makati City said the scheme will be reimplemented, except on weekends and holidays.
“The Modified Number Coding scheme exempts vehicles with two or more people from being apprehended,” the city government added.
The Makati LGU said the following vehicles are exempted from the scheme:
• Motorcycles
• Ambulance, fire trucks, police patrol, military vehicles on official functions
• Diplomatic vehicles with diplomatic plates
• Government vehicles with government plates or appropriate LTO stickers or marking
expressly showing the name of the agency or office while in official use
• Official media vehicles with markings expressly showing their company while in official use
• Tow trucks duly accredited by the City of Makati
• Vehicles used by medical practitioners in an emergency
• Vehicles with Senior Citizen Blu Card holders as drivers of passengers
On May 3, Makati City lifted the number coding scheme because of fewer vehicles travelling in the city.
