The Department of National Defense (DND) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) jointly inaugurated multiple infrastructure projects at Camp O’ Donnell in Capas, Tarlac on Friday, May 14.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar both graced the inauguration of a three-storey Philippine Army Leadership Development and Education Center, a school for candidate soldier mess hall, the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Army transient facility, and a 600-meter road at the military camp.
"Twenty years ago, I was assigned here and during this time, there was only one building here. Today, we are lucky to have three more buildings that were added by the DPWH," Lorenzana said in his speech.

Major Gen. Cornelio Valencia, commander of Army TRADOC, and Roseller Tolentino, an engineer and the regional director of DPWH Central Luzon, signed the documents for the official turnover of the DPWH facilities to the DND.

Meanwhile, Villar said the infrastructure projects are part of the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) program, which is a convergence project of the two government agencies.
"As brave soldiers and protectors of this country, we want nothing but the best for each and every one of you," Villar told the crowd of soldiers who attended the ceremony.
