Year after year, tie-dye brought back a look from the ‘60s and ‘70s with its colorful patterns that also signify freedom and individuality. Subtle and easy to style, tie-dye prints then became a worldwide trend with contemporary fashion making it a wardrobe staple of today and even a hot hit in quarantine fashion.
Both on and off the ramp, the global fashion craze is now given life by Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, and Emily Ratajkowski, who show how tie-dye can be seen in luxury, transformed into sophisticated and glamorous wardrobes. In the league of luxury houses for spring-summer 2021, tie-dye pieces were paraded down the runaways of Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Sportmax, and Acne Studios.

For a more organic approach, one can focus DIY projects on spiral and V patterns by just twisting, pleating, or clumping fabrics followed by the application of bright and bold colors to uplift any mood. Do away with luxury fabrics as tie-dye can be inexpensive. Say no to a dull and weary time during the pandemic by being experimental even while using cotton shirts.
