Tanay execs harness technology to push vaccination program

Tanay municipal government officials have been harnessing modern technology to promote the local government's vaccination program.

They attributed the success of the inoculation among its target beneficiaries to the Short Messaging Service Broadcast System (SMS BS) that it has been using .

They said that the effectiveness of SMS BS was proven when the local government sent the message on the schedule of vaccination to the targeted beneficiaries -- residents of Barangay Sampaloc.

Through the SMS BS, the vaccination in Barangay Sampaloc was systematic as the residents were able to receive specific instructions from the local government on how the vaccination process would be done beforehand.

Joicee Gapido, from the office of Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco, said residents should expect information or messages from the local government through the SMS BS.

The Tanay local government unit is the first municipal government to use the latest system in communication in the province. (Nel Andrade)
