SLMC puts up own version of community pantry for nurses

In celebration of International Nurses Day, St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) paid tribute to all of its nurses by putting up its own version of community pantry in both hospitals in Bonifacio Global City and Quezon City.

Called the "Nurses Pantry," the initiative was inspired by the Maginhawa Community Pantry.

The SLMC distributed food packs, vegetables, and drinks to their nurses.

All its 2,300 nurses also received a pair of shoes, a backpack, and body care products.

"Honoring our nurses is important to us as they are among the medical frontliners who continue to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Without them, it is impossible for us to provide the best quality of healthcare to our patients," SLMC President Dr. Arturo S. De La Pena said.

"As we face more challenges the COVID-19 pandemic will bring to us, I hope the celebration of International Nurses Week will be an inspiration for our nurses to continue doing their important role of saving people," he added.
