Pasay City government to convert one of isolation facilities into vaccination site

The Pasay City government will use one of its isolation facilities as a site for the inoculation of 585 individuals using Pfizer vaccines.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government is expecting the arrival of 1,170 Pfizer vaccines tonight and will start the rollout tentatively on Friday (May 14).

Rubiano said those who will be inoculated were the pre-listed frontline workers, senior citizens, and adults with comorbidities.

She said the Burgos Elementary School, one of the city government isolation facilities, will be converted into a vaccination center.

The mayor said the Burgos Elementary School with 58 beds and the Pasay City Complex with 59 beds have been recording zero admission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases for almost a month now.

Rubiano said only two of their facilities â€“ the Mall of Asia and the Folk Arts Theater â€“ have COVID-19 patients.

She said the Mall of Asia with 132 beds has a total of 48 confined patients and Folk Arts Theater has 41 patients.

The mayor said the city is now slowly recovering from the surge of the virus as it only has 149 recorded active cases and 21 new cases.
