Over 13k residents vaccinated in San Juan

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said on Tuesday that the city has already vaccinated a total of 13,085 residents against COVID-19.

Zamora said that 8,620 San Juaneños have received their first dose of Sinovac vaccines, with 3,801 of them already fully vaccinated.

He said the city still has 10,075 doses of the China-made vaccine.

A total of 2,460 people have received their first dose of AstraZeneca vaccines. After getting 12,000 doses of the vaccine from the Department Of Health (DOH), Zamora said the city continues to inoculate its residents with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

For the second dose, 2,460 doses were allocated for the first batch of San Juaneños who received the AstraZeneca jab, with the remaining 9,540 allocated for the first and second doses of another batch of San Juan residents and frontliners.

Zamora said the city was previously vaccinating 600-800 individuals daily. This will be ramped up to over 1,500 per day with the arrival of the additional vaccine supplies.

He added that this can be increased to around 3,000 a day in multiple sites once the city gets 100,000 doses of the AstraZenca vaccines that the local government procured.
