OB.Neon obliterates Mongolia's Lilgun in DPC, boosts bid for a return trip to Major

Filipino powerhouse OB x Neon Esports seized its third straight victory in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season 2-Southeast Asia Upper Division after manhandling Lilgun of Mongolia, 2-0, on Wednesday, May 12.

Januel "Jaunuel" Arcilla's position-5 Tiny set the tone for Neon's signature unstoppable aggression in Game 1 that only lasted for 22 minutes and 36 seconds with a smashing 38-7 scoreline.

The versatile hard support put up 16 assists to go with seven kills against three deaths and enabled 11K MMR carry John Anthony "Natsumi" Vargas' Bloodseeker and midlaner Japoy "Yopaj" Ferrer's Puck to get kills one by one.

Natsumi hit 12 kills and 12 assists while Yopaj tallied 11 kills and 14 assists as both cores did not die even once throughout the rout.

Game 1 stats

Yopaj sustained his stellar performance in Game 2, spearheading the Singapore Major top six finisher's 40-23 victory in nearly 29 minutes by coming through with a 15-4-9 kill-death-assist tally.

Altanginj "x123" Bilguun on his Lycan gave Lilgun a glimmer of hope when he made an Aegis of Immortal steal in the 24th minute but it went for naught as Yopaj and the crew proceeded to wipe out the Mongolians.

Captain-offlaner Andrei "Skem" Ong (also known as "ctm") was also instrumental with his Underlord (7-3-19) as well as position-4 Prieme Ejay "PlayHard" Maque's Nyx Assassin (7-5-14) in the series closer.

Game 2 stats

With its third win in a row following a two-game losing start to the second season, Neon strengthened its bid to qualify for the second Major of the year by forging a tie at third with Fnatic (3-2).

The top three teams from the SEA Upper Division will make it to the next Major.

Lilgun fell to 0-5 as it crashed out of the Upper Division and will likely return to the Lower Division at the end of The International 10.
