LOOK: Lego recreates 'Friends' apartments with a new 2,048-piece set

It's been more than a decade since the last episode of "Friends" aired. But the American sitcom continues to garner new generations of fans thanks to its fantastic cast, unprecedented humor, and modern streaming platforms.

Now if you're a fan of the show, then you'll definitely love Lego's latest offering—The "Friends" Apartments set. The 2,048-piece kit features minifigures of Rachel, Ross, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, and his ex-girlfriend Janice, and their respective New York flats.

"We wanted to develop another tribute to this iconic TV show with a focus on the famous apartments," Lego set designer Anderson Ward Grubb said. "We worked directly from production photos of the set as well as watching and re-watching a lot of episodes so we could capture as many iconic moments as possible. One fun challenge was figuring out how to represent some aspects that change over the course of the show that appear in some episodes and not in others. I am looking forward to seeing if the eagle-eyed fans will spot them."

Lego 'Friends' Apartments set

The set is packed with iconic furniture and items that would spark giggles among the show's followers. Pieces such as Chandler's reclining leather seats, Phoebe's "Gladys" painting, Mrs. Braverman's cheesecake, among others, that contributed to some of the show's best TV moments are present too.

This is not the first time Lego produced a kit inspired by the show's location. In 2019, a 1,070-piece Central Perk coffee shop set launched. The "Friends" Apartment set will be released on June 1, 2021. Also included in it is a light props for that overall studio film. Now, you can revisit your favorite "Friends" scene, or even direct new ones.
