Sexagenarian victimized in Mandaluyong robbery hold-up

The Mandaluyong City police nabbed three suspects after they robbed a 65-year-old man while walking along EDSA on Sunday.

Police identified the suspects as John Paul Enriquez Evangelista, 28; Lorence Fermin Fabriquer, 24; and Rene Boy Abendano Samson, 22.

The police report said the victim was walking along EDSA in front of Shangri-la, Wack-wack, when the three suspects pointed their bladed weapons at him and declared a hold-up, took his pieces of jewelry, then fled towards EDSA with the victim chasing after them.

The chase caught the attention of bystanders who cornered Evangelista, resulting in his immediate arrest. A follow-up operation resulted in the arrest of Fabriquer and Samson.

Recovered from the suspects were one gold necklace worth P160,000, one gold bracelet worth P40,000, and one shoulder bag.
