Chinese man just released from detention, killed in an ambush


Just as he was about to go home after his release from the penitentiary, a Chinese was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Parañaque City, police said on Tuesday, May 11.

The victim was identified as Wang Teng Shou, who just got out after serving his sentence from drug-related charges.

Parañaque Police Chief Col. Maximo Sebastian said he was brought to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the report from the Parañaque City Police, the incident occurred at 6:45 p.m. along Doña Soledad Avenue, Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City.

Police said that they received the report at 6:50 p.m. Investigation showed that Shou was fetched by paralegal Gina Rubiato from Annex 2 of Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City. They boarded a taxi on the way to the victim's residence in Manila.

As the taxi was cruising along Dona Soledad Avenue, the said place of the incident, the motorcycle-riding gunmen fired at the taxi, according to Sebastian.

The victim was immediately brought to the Parañaque Doctors Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
