Balanga prelate receives second dose of COVID-19 jab

Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos received his second dose of the the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine on Monday, May 10.

The prelate posted his picture on Facebook after getting the jab.

"I got my second COVID-19 vaccine dose. I am grateful to be part of the solution," said Santos.

The prelate urged the public to do the same.

"Support and spread vaccine awareness. Get vaccinated. It is safe. It is our service," Santos said.

He then thanked the healthcare workers who help in the fight against the coronavirus.

"Our hearts are full of gratitude for our healthcare heroes who responsibly commit themselves to fight against COVID-19, and help us," said Santos.

"Your resiliency, compassion and strength in keeping our communities safe and sound will be forever etched in our hearts," he added.

Santos did not mention the name of the vaccine but he received the first dose of the Sinovac on April 12.
