Scattered rain showers, thunderstorms expected in S. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao -- PAGASA
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao while the easterlies will prevail over the rest of the country on Tuesday, May 11.

In its weather bulletin issued on Monday afternoon, May 10, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will affect Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, Visayas, and Mindanao due to the ITCZ, or the region where the trade winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge.
PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the easterlies will continue to bring warm and humid weather conditions across Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Based on the PAGASA's monitoring, the following stations recorded the highest heat index values on Monday.
Dagupan City, Pangasinan (46 degrees Celsius, 2 p.m.)
Ambulong, Batangas (43°C, 2 p.m.)
NAIA, Pasay City (43°C, 2 p.m.)
Clark Airport, Pampanga (42°C, 2 p.m.)
Iba, Zambales (42°C, 2 p.m.)
Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (42°C, 11 a.m.)
Aparri, Cagayan (41°C, 11 a.m.)
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (41°C, 2 p.m.)
However, the public is advised to remain vigilant against severe thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening that may trigger flash floods in low-lying areas or landslides in mountainous communities.
