After much speculations on her rumored transfer, actress Sunshine Dizon was formally introduced as a Kapamilya today, April 30.
Dizon, 37, was last seen in the popular Kapuso afternoon teleserye "Magkaagaw" which also stars Sheryl Cruz and Jeric Gonzales. The steamy serye ended last March 31.
The award-winning actress was part of GMA-7 family for 25 years. But prior to her stint on Kapuso network, Dizon appeared on two episodes of the Kapamilya anthology program "Maala-ala Mo Kaya" in 1992 and 1994.
Dizon kicked off her career on GMA-7 in the series "Anna Karenina" with Antoinette Taus and Kim delos Santos in 1996.
On ABS-CBN, Dizon will be among the cast members of the upcoming ABS-CBN series “Marry Me, Marry You”.
Cory Vidanes, COO for Broadcast of ABS-CBN, led officials in welcoming Dizon to the network.
"With regard to my contract, siguro yung manager ko na lang ang magsasalita. As of now, I am very thankful for this opportunity. It's a new season in my lie and my career," she said.
Dizon said that she's looking forward to work with the stars of Kapamilya network. "Yung mga napapanood ko lang noon, sana makasama ko na ngayon."
On May 5, ABS-CBN will mark its first year since it was forced to shut down by the government due to franchise issues. One of the celebrities who took a stand against the shutdown of the broadcast network was Dizon, who, at that time, was still a contract star of rival network GMA-7.
"I took a stand considering that thousands of people will become jobless ... tapos may pandemya pa. If you don't sympathize with that, there must be something wrong with you," she said.
