Her tip: style them with your face mask!

Is there something wrong with wearing jewelry at home? Well, there isn't. Is it lavish? Yes. But does it hurt anyone? No. This may seem to be a petty concern with all the things that is happening in the world, but no one should feel guilty about loving and wearing jewelry in this time of pandemic. After all, one of the many things the pandemic cannot take away from us is our appreciation for beauty, whether it is in a Netflix show, a potted flower, and, of course, jewelry.

That is what Lovi Poe wants to impart with the spring-summer 2021 collection she curated for Imono Jewelr—a selection of charming and affordable pieces fit for the everyday Filipina lifestyle.

“I chose the designs in this collection based on what I look for in everyday jewelry. It has to be versatile so it can look good in any outfit for any occasion," the brand ambassadress says. "It has to be elegant with refined details so it highlights the beauty of the person wearing it. It should also help bring out the best qualities in a person—it’s an extension of what’s within. Jewelry is very personal."

Beauty and purpose

The selection features bangles, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and rings in beautifully understated designs that are timeless yet contemporary. But beyond the design, the brand promises jewelry creations that are ultimate fashion investments.

“The collection has a variety of designs incorporating gold and rose gold plating, stone and pearl embellishments, chains, and a lot more to suit the tastes of all kinds of women who value everyday luxury to remind them of their everyday strength," says Goldy Tang-Hing, Imono Jewelry general manager.

What makes the piece even more special is that they're pandemic-proof and easy to maintain. Being made of 316L stainless steel, a non-tarnish and hypoallergenic material, the pieces can be sprayed with a disinfectant and worn while washing their hands without having to worry about fading colors or deterioration.

Lovi's choice

Since 2015, Lovi has great affection toward the sophisticated and playful flair that goes into the brand's pieces, so much so that at times she wants to wear them all at once. Among the many ways she likes to wear her jewelry is by stacking bangles and necklaces. She also confessed her love for anklets and hoop earring. But during the pandemic, she discovered a new way of styling them and it involves face masks.

"Funny thing, I turned one of the necklaces into a mask holder/chain," Lovi tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. "It is very handy. You don't have to look for it or put it in your pocket. All you have to do is drape it down. That's one way to style your Imono necklace."

Though most of us stay at home in our casualwear, it is important to make ourselves feel—and look—good as a way to pamper oneself. As for Lovi, wearing jewelry is a way "to remind myself of my own values so I can always exude inner strength and confidence, even on the most challenging days.”
