More than 8,000 have been added to the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country on Friday, April 30.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 8,748 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1,037,460.
The total number of recoveries rose to 946,318 with the addition of 4,143 new deaths.
The DOH also recorded 89 new deaths which brought the total number of deaths to 17,234.
Of the 73,908 active cases, the DOH said, 95.1 percent were mild, 1.7 percent were asymptomatic, 1.0 percent were critical, 1.3 percent were severe and 0.87 percent were moderate.
The Health department said 26 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 18 of these were recoveries.
"Moreover, 46 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," the DOH said.
"All labs were operational on April 28, 2021 while 5 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS)," it added.
