PH Dota veteran Abeng proving to be the key to Execration's early success in DPC Season 2

If there's someone to commend for Execration's recent success in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Season 2-Southeast Asia Upper Division, it has to be the Filipino Dota veteran Abeng "Abeng" Dicdican.

Execration position-4 support Don Carlo "BDz" Manalo bared that Abeng, a former carry and mid player of Execration back in the 2014-2015 era, is working as the team's analyst.

On top of that, the legendary player and good friend of Exe coach Kimuel "Kim0" Borromeo Rodis is serving as the motivational speaker for BDz and the crew.

"Having our new analyst is really a good addition for us. He's the one making the team jel. He's giving a speech for us and it's really helpful," BDz told the PGL panelists following Execration's 2-0 sweep of Smart Omega on Wednesday night, April 28.

"(He's telling us that) we need to reset. Win or lose, we just need to focus on our game. And no matter what happens, we should just enjoy the game)," he added.

BDz also shared how Abeng surprisingly came to be Execration's analyst and a motivational coach.

"Actually, he just told us that he wants to go here for a vacation. Little did we know that he's also gonna coach us and he's gonna be a good addition for us."

With Abeng in the team, Execration bounced back from 0-2 losing start to the season by winning two straight series against Fnatic and Omega both through a sweep. 

In the match versus Omega, carry Jinn "Palos" Lamatao led Execration to a Game 1 victory with his Anti-Mage while offlaner Nikko "Nikko" Bilocura showed up against his former team in Game 2 playing Axe.

Exe now stands on a three-way deadlock with Boom Esports of Indonesia and the skidding Omega at No. 2 in the eight-team Upper Division on identical 2-2 series win-loss records.

Execration is hoping to sustain its momentum against ONE Esports Singapore Major Top 6 finisher OB x Neon Esports on Saturday, May 1.
