Over 1,200 PPE sets, medical supplies delivered to Batanes health workers
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has assisted the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region II in transporting over 1,200 personal protective equipment (PPEs) and medical supplies in Batanes on Tuesday, April 27.
In a statement on Thursday, April 29, the PCG deployed the BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) to ensure the safe and secured transportation of medical supplies for Batanes health workers amid coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Coast Guard also delivered new equipment for the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Batanes and assorted medicines for the local residents donated by the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development in Basco Port, Batanes.
Meanwhile, the PCG added that some agricultural supplies such as mallard ducklings, veterinary medicines, and farm supplies were also transported to support the operations of the Department of Agriculture (DA) - Batanes Experiment Station.
Last month, the PCG also assisted the Department of Health (DOH) in transporting COVID-19 vaccines in MIMAROPA (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan).
