The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country rose to 1,028,738 on Thursday, April 29 with the addition of more than 8,000 new cases.

The case bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) showed 8,276 new cases, 6,636 new recoveries and 114 new deaths.
Total recoveries climbed to 942,239 while total deaths rose to 17,145.
Of the total number of cases, 69,354 active cases, of which, 94.9 percent were mild, 1.6 percent were asymptomatic, 1.1 percent were critical, 1.4 percent were severe and 0.92 percent were moderate.
The DOH said 33 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 24 of these were recoveries.
"Moreover, 68 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.
The Health department said all labs were operational on April 27, 2021 while one lab was not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
