De Ridder calls out Vera

ONE heavyweight champion Brandon Vera and two-division world titleholder Reinier De Ridder (ONE Championship)

Undefeated two-division ONE world champion Reinier De Ridder isn't done in dominating the Circle just yet.

After capturing the light heavyweight belt from Aung La N Sang, De Ridder called out reigning heavyweight king Brandon Vera during the post-match interview with ONE commentator Mitch Chilson.

"I got a belt here. I got a belt there. I got a spot for one more around my waist. Brandon Vera, what you wanna do in a few months man? Whatchu up to this summer? Let's go!" said De Ridder, who remained unscathed with a 14-0 record.

The 30-year-old Dutch star scored a unanimous decision victory over Aung La in their second meeting in the Circle, this time for the light heavyweight belt, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in ONE on TNT IV Thursday, April 29.

De Ridder put an early stop to his rivalry with Aung La after first taking away the middleweight title from the Burmese icon last October with a first-round submission victory.

Vera, on the other hand, has not fought since suffering defeat at the hands of Aung La in October 2019 in their light heavyweight title bout.

The Filipino-American heavyweight champion, who holds a 16-8 record, has been hinting at a possible comeback on social media for the past few days.

Vera also arrived in Singapore alongside the Sanford MMA team in support of Aung La.

Prior to that, the 43-year-old Vera is holed up at Sanford MMA in Florida with fellow ONE Championship stars Aung La and former two-division champion Martin Nguyen.

De Ridder would have to wait for the winner between Vera and Arjan Bhullar as the two are set to meet in ONE: Dangal in May 15.
