PAGASA sees warm weather due to easterlies

Warm weather due to the easterlies will prevail in most parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, April 28.

PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean will be the dominant weather system that will bring warm and humid weather conditions across the archipelago.

Rojas said PAGASA has not monitored a weather disturbance that could enter or form inside the Philippine area of responsibility in the next three to five days.

However, there is a high chance of thunderstorms by afternoon or evening, especially in the eastern portion of the country, he added.

The public is advised to remain alert against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Moreover, PAGASA has not issued a gale warning on Wednesday morning but sea conditions over the northern and eastern sections of the country will be moderate.

Meanwhile, sea conditions over the rest of the country will be light to moderate.

Seafarers and fisherfolk are safe to sail but were advised to observe caution when venturing out to sea.

Based on its extended weather outlook for key areas from April 29 to May 2, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 32-34 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 34-35 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City, 24 degrees Celsius in Baguio City, 30-32 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay City, 31-32 degrees Celsius in Puerto Princesa City, 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Cebu, 32-33 degrees Celsius in Metro Davao, and 33-34 degrees Celsius in Zamboanga City.
