Rookie K-pop idol group ENHYPEN made their comeback on April 26 with the release of their second mini-album “Border: Carnival.”

“Border: Carnival” contains six tracks: the carrier song "Drunk-Dazed," "Fever," "Not For Sale," "Mixed Up," "Intro: The Invitation" and "Outro: The Wormhole"

Korea’s Hanteo Chart revealed that “Border: Carnival” sold 319,073 copies on the first day of release on April 26 to place first on the daily physical album chart.

The total surpassed the first-week sales of ENHYPEN’s debut album “Border: Day One,” which sold 280,873 copies from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6 last year including 229,991 copies on the first day of release.

At their online media showcase for the album held on April 26 and streamed on YouTube, ENHYPEN members talked about the new album and their goals.

ENHYPEN debuted on Nov. 30 last year with “Border: Day One,” the first K-pop group under Belift Lab, a subsidiary of HYBE Corp. (formerly Big Hit Entertainment). By year-end, the album sold 312,723 copies and placed 24th on Hanteo’s yearly chart for 2020.

“For our debut album, we talked about our emotions and the borderline of being trainees and artists. This time, for 'Carnival,' we talked about how we felt after making our official debut,” said leader Jungwon.

ENHYPEN made a splash after their debut, winning four rookie awards in just two months.

“I didn’t expect to win a new artist award. When we received the new artist award, I could not believe it,” said Sunoo.

Jake added, “I didn't expect to win a new artist award this quickly. I was just so just grateful to our fans ENGENE after winning the award. We talked among ourselves that we should work really hard.”

Ahead of the release, “Border: Carnival” had racked up 450,000 copies in pre-orders, surprising the members.

“We are all rookies, releasing our second album now and I can’t take you enough for all the love you have sent us. The pre-order sales are encouraging but we should not get carried away and we plan on trying our best to show what we have prepared for this promotion,” said Heeseung.

When asked what they wanted to achieve through their second album, Sunghoon said, “I feel like ENHYPEN grows every time we make our comeback and our fans think that as well. We want to expand our presence so that more people around the world will know our name. That would make me really happy.”

Jungwon said, “Many people say that the K-pop scene is at the fourth generation idol war. We want to be the hottest team among the fourth gen idols and solidify our status as the fourth gen hot icon.”
